What I have found is that Archabald McGregor was from Scotland and tried to help put the Young Pretender back in power in 1755. (??1745?? –SJCW) He was wounded in battle, left for dead, recovered and fled the country. He ended up in the Carolinas where he met Edith and was married. Ann was born and Archibald died when she was only a couple of years old. Edith then married a McIntyre. (Dan Tate (dtate@infocom.com), 1999)
