Applications, applications, resumés, resumés

OK, so I got the Federal OPM application filled out, in case I find anything I could apply for around Austin—not that I expect to, but it can’t hurt much.  Last night I filled out a canned State of Texas application.  Next is the Travis County application, I suppose.  It’s a good thing there’s cut-and-paste these days!  If I had to do all this by hand or by typing, I’d be working into next week.  Another seven or eight resumés went off to listings from various job boards, and three or four responding to ads in the American-Space(cadet)man.

The noise of the phone not ringing is deafening . . . .

Things to do:

  1. Get out the chain saw and chop up that big pecan branch I’ve been saving to feed the barbecue.
  2. Get out the circular saw and hammer and chop up the ruined cabinetry for disposal.
  3. Get out the chain saw again and chop up some more of the big hackberry in the front yard.
  4. Hang the window screen that’s been on sawhorses in the back yard for a year and a half.
  5. Sink the posts for the compost pen.
  6. Follow up with the headhunters who submitted me as a contractor on various State jobs.
  7. Write copy for some more eBay items, so I can list them out.
