I hear thunder outside, which means that a storm’s on the way, and when the rain’s over I’ll have to climb up on the roof and sweep off the water so the holes in the roof (which I still can’t locate) don’t leak for the next three days.
Tomorrow afternoon the whole family is going to American Mensa’s Annual Gathering in Dallas, for the rest of the week. I’m barely able to wait, not because I enjoy going to Gatherings (as a general thing, I don’t), or because there’s something special about the program (it’s good but not transcendent), but because I GET TO SPEND TIME WITH MOON! She invited our family to spend the Fourth with her family, so the two families can get to know each other (we’ve met by fits and starts, but never all together at once) and Friday she and I get to have the afternoon and night all to ourselves (for the first time)! It’ll make waiting until September (the next time we can have time to ourselves) easier and harder both: easier because we’ll have less tension due to impatience, and harder because it’s so wonderful when we are together.
The balanced piranha is temporary. Fnord.
