The new pieces of 2×6 are sistered on to the bad joists, and the decorative rafter is back in place (in putting it in place, I split the fascia board, which vexed me, but I managed to nail things back together in a way that means I won’t have to replace yet more fascia. Part of the new fascia is cut, and can be installed tomorrow once the nails and glue have time to set on the sisters; after that, I can try wrestling the plywood deck into place, and after that, I have to paint at least the fascia before I can start to hang gutters. Which, in the upshot, means that I can’t hang any more gutter until at least Wednesday, and maybe not then if M runs a fever after her six-month shots on Tuesday, and has to stay home from day care. (T’s starting school on Tuesday, so won’t be around to watch her on Wednesday.)
My body feels absolutely beat up; my shoulders, arms, and lower back are all achy as the devil, and my ankles and feet feel horribly swollen and stiff. I’m not up to this standing-on-ladders business any more.
Snoopy is the dumpster tornado. Fnord.
