This has NOT been a nice day

For several days now, my gut’s been upset, and demonstrating it didn’t like something or another I’d eaten, but it hadn’t completely incapacitated me.  Last night it finally did, with gut cramps, frequent toilet trips, and queasiness (all without any fever, mind you, suggesting this isn’t an infection).  I was up and down all night with it.  Then I woke up this morning with my gut quieter but having gained a nasty and painful earache in the night.  I washed out my ear with warm water, in hopes the problem was wax (to which I’m a martyr) plugging the tube, but I wasn’t so lucky.  I phoned the doctor and made an appointment for 3:45 this afternoon (the earliest he could see me), took two Tylenol Plus, lived dangerously by eating some breakfast cereal (the first thing I’d had since lunchtime yesterday), and went to bed again, where I’ve spent most of my time asleep.  By this afternoon, the sharp ache in my ear’s gone away, although it still feels as though it’s stuffed with cotton-wool, and I don’t feel as though someone’s reaching in and squeezing my tripes.
