Three hundred fifty dollars

This is what the pest-control estimator told me it would cost to do a “rodent enclosure” on our house, including climbing into the attic and screening off abandoned open vent stacks, patching holes drilled in walls for piping (later abandoned and left hanging), stuffing steel wool and urethane foam around pipes so the varmints can’t climb up them, and subsequent trap monitoring to make sure there’s nothing getting into the house.

They are to show up on the afternoon of the 29th to do all this; my task is to have my minuscule closet dismantled so they can get into the attic (the only access to the attic is from inside my closet).
