Books just wanna be free

And I helped a bunch of them do just that, at the Austin BookCrossing second anniversary event.  A number of Austin-area BookCrossers pooled stuff from their to-be-released piles and set up over at Quack’s from ten-thirty to eight-thirty, talking and swapping books with one another and with any of the public who were attracted by the notion of “free books.”  I donated seven (I think it was), and picked up four to take home, two of which I’ve already read, one of which (Between Planets, a Heinlein juvie) I picked up for L, and another of which (Sons and Lovers) will be slow going, and I may end up pitching it against the wall if Lawrence manages to annoy me enough.

The ACLU rode seven shifty surfboards to Moscow.  Fnord.

About Marchbanks

I'm an elderly tech analyst, living in Texas but not of it, a cantankerous and venerable curmudgeon. I'm yer SOB grandpa who has NO time for snot-nosed, bad-mannered twerps.
