T just got her SAT scores back today.
She scored a 1490. 770 on English, 720 on math.
That’s better than either her mother or I did. I got a 1350 in 1974, and L got a 1370 in 1976. (Both were in the days when the SAT was still an intelligence test, rather than a cumulative knowledge test). A few years later I came up with a 1490 on my GRE, but that’s a different matter altogether.
In other news, T is gone to her homecoming dance with a last minute date, which she arranged after her boyfriend fainted at work yesterday (probably after-effects of an auto wreck he was in several weeks ago, which gave him a concussion) and the Air Force doctors slapped him back in the hospital. T ended up going with a guy she’s known since junior high but hasn’t any ongoing serious interest in. She gets there and gets to show off her prom dress that L made her, but it’s not the same as if boyfriend had been able to drive down from Abilene. And it means she doesn’t get to spend the weekend with him either, which will leave her snappy from disappointment and sexual frustration both.
