Today’s yard-sale scores

Not a lot, really, but I hadn’t been out saling in so long, it was fun to go running around.

#1:  Model 9 Sunbeam Mixmaster.  It’s an early Model 9 with the old-style company-logo decal, probably 1948.  It’s complete, with both bowls, beaters, and juicer attachment with the new-type strainer.  The bigger bowl is a shelf-sitter, because it’s so cracked along the bottom that I’d be afraid to use it, but everything else is in fine shape, even down to the original power cord in good condition, which is remarkable.  It should do OK for Waring Stuph, particularly since I only gave eight dollars for it, and if the other Mixmasters I own are anything to go by, it’ll run solidly for the next twenty years.

#2:  An unbelievably horrible comic toilet-seat cover from 1950-something Japan.  It’s so bad and so tasteless that I couldn’t resist it.  It’s still in its original box, which is in rough shape but at least present.  I think it’ll go well on eBay in one of the “tacky vintage items” categories.

This is what I got:
