One of the members in a listserv I own wrote me late last week to ask why I post so rarely these days. I answered her with the following. (The “Reed” I mention is a listmember who is a chronic victim—and she almost never does anything to better her situation; she just complains endlessly about poor little her.)
I’ve been fighting both depression and joblessness, and I don’t think the group needs to listen to me whining about still not having even the prospect of a job. One Reed in the bunch is enough.
