I’ve been sick for a week now

Ever since last Saturday night I’ve been fighting a persistent case of bronchitis; it began with a sinus infection that moved down into my chest and gave me a hard, racking cough.  I felt miserable and feverish all Sunday, and even called in sick on Monday, but by Tuesday I decided I ought to try to work the rest of the week.  I managed to hang on until 2:30 yesterday (with my screwball work hours, that’s half an hour before quitting time), at which point I’d run out of work and was feeling feverish again, so I left early and went to the doctor, who “concurred’ with my diagnosis, gave me a week’s worth of Levaquin, a Combivent inhaler for my cough and wheezing, and a prescription for an “atomic” cough syrup that I haven’t gone to pick up from the pharmacy yet.  I went to bed very early last night, talked to Ziactrice for a long time, went to sleep, woke up around one in the morning and couldn’t sleep again, so I read The New Yorker until nearly four, when I finally slept some more.  Today I’ve barely gotten out of bed except to visit the bathroom, and the kitchen to fill a quart glass of water; I’m trying to drink four quarts today, about twice what I normally go for.
