Mene, mene, tekel, upharshin

(or, for those whose Hebrew isn’t the best, “Heavy, heavy, hangs over your head,” which is what all that wood did while I was working on it)

I finished re-assembling the north-door overhang this morning, after I discovered that working with drywall screws over my head was much, much easier than hammering over my head is.  In a fit of excitement, I even went on and primed the wood with a coat of shellac sealant, and if I get even more excited later, I might even put on a first coat of paint!

One thing that’s going to have to change as a result of this is the kind of light fixture over the door; the new receptacle box hangs down so far, the current fixture can’t possibly fit, so I’ll have to go see what’s to be had for an overhead exterior fixture with a very deep base.

I'm an elderly tech analyst, living in Texas but not of it, a cantankerous and venerable curmudgeon. I'm yer SOB grandpa who has NO time for snot-nosed, bad-mannered twerps.
