Well, of all the nuisances

Last night, on my doctor’s instructions, I took a hot soaking bath to help the soreness from surgery.  About a quarter of an hour after I’d got out and dried myself, and was sitting at the computer, I was startled to discover that apparently the “dissolving stitches” in one incision had indeed dissolved, and the incision was open and bleeding!  L and I managed to get a gauze pad on it to help the bleeding stop, which it did, and a little later I went out and bought some butterfly closures to hold the lips of the wound together; she dosed both incisions with antibiotic ointment and pulled them shut with closures, for good measure.  I hope this doesn’t mean I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow and have more stitches taken.
